Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™ InfoThe Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™ is a combination of vitamins, minerals, and herbs known for their benefits to the skin. It won’t just help you clear up your acne, it will help your skin glow. Glowing skin is healthy skin.
After several years of research and testing we came up with a formula that works well with all types of acne. We’ve put together a list of all the different vitamins, minerals and herbs in our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™, along with their benefits. Let’s take a look at them now and see exactly what you’re getting each time you take one of our supplement packs!
An important antioxidant, Vitamin A has been used to treat acne since the late 1800s, though not nearly as much today since our society relies so heavily on chemicals. Vitamin A is responsible for growing new skin cells, strengthening your skin’s protective tissue, and keeping your sebaceous gland activity in check. (Many customers report it shrinks their pores too).
This means that when you don’t have enough Vitamin A in your diet, dead skin cells, bacteria and oil (from the sebaceous gland) all build up in your skin, which is a recipe for acne disaster! It’s not a surprise, then, that a large percentage of those who suffer from acne problems have Vitamin A deficiencies.
We’ve found fish liver oil to be the best source of Vitamin A for your skin, and have included 10,000 IU of it in our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™. It’s enough to make your skin look great without worrying about the risk of overdose. We’ve also added Vitamin D3 to our pack, which increases the amount of Vitamin A your body can handle.
Popularly referred to as “the sunshine vitamin”, Vitamin D3 actually acts as a defense system for your skin by activating a special kind of white blood cell called macrophages. These macrophages directly attack acne-causing bacteria, making them a kind of ‘knight in shining armor’ for your skin.
To keep your skin healthy and bacteria-free, we’ve added 1000 IU of Vitamin D3 to our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™. We find it to be a much better alternative to drying your skin out with benzol peroxide!
This once-obscure vitamin has been getting a lot of attention for all kinds of health benefits, including fighting cancer and heart disease. But one of the lesser known facts about Vitamin K2 is that Vitamin A doesn’t work properly without it. This means that even if your Vitamin A levels are normal, you could still have acne problems if you don’t have enough Vitamin K2!
In addition to its supportive relationship with Vitamin A, Vitamin K2 prevents our skin from calcifying (hardening) so it stays smooth and elastic, and is also potentially beneficial for smoothing out lines and wrinkles. You’ll find 160 mcg of it in our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™.
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)
Vitamin B5 is truly the juggernaut of acne vitamins! It helps metabolize skin oils, counteracts hormonal imbalances, increases your blood circulation and reduces your stress levels! All four of these things cause acne breakouts when they’re out of whack, so we’ve added 500mg of Vitamin B5 to our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack to make sure you have enough of this amazing vitamin.
Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid)
Vitamin B9, more commonly known as Folic Acid, works together along with beta carotene and Vitamin C to strengthen your metabolism, and it also helps eliminate toxins from your body. So if you’re deficient in B9, the buildup of toxins can show up as acne breakouts on your skin, which is just no fun. We’ve added 400 mcg to our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™ to help give you clear, non-oily skin.
Up until recently, experts have been telling you that iodine is causing your acne… but the truth is, not having enough iodine can cause acne breakouts! Most Americans are deficient in iodine, so we’ve added 80mcg, about 52% of the recommended daily intake, to our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™.
Several scientific studies show that acne sufferers are deficient in zinc. Zinc helps regulate the activity of your oil glands, so when you don’t have enough zinc, the oil glands can get out of control and you end up with that pimply, oily skin you hate so much.
Zinc also helps heal wounds and strengthens your skin tissue to prevent scarring, so the 40 mg we’ve added to the Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™ will go a long way to making your skin soft, supple and blemish-free.
This yellow-orange spice is most commonly known for its use in curries and other Southeastern Asian dishes, and has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It also contains curcumin, which is an anti-inflammatory, so the turmeric in our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™ will help reduce redness as well as kill off acne-causing bacteria for a clear, smooth
In fact, one of our trial volunteers reported that she did much better with samples that contained turmeric than ones without! So we have first-hand knowledge of the difference it can make in your acne treatment.
Vitamin C also happens to be an antioxidant, which means it slows the rate of free radical damage to your body. Free radicals are unstable molecules and cause damage to collagen, an amino acid that keeps your skin smooth and supple. When too much free radical damage occurs, you get dry skin, fine wrinkles and lines.
Taking Vitamin C not only helps halt and reverse free radical damage, it also speeds up tissue growth and repair, and reduces your risk of developing skin cancer form long-term sun exposure. With all of these skin-boosting benefits, we knew we were making the right decision when we added 150 mg of Vitamin C to our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™.
Has your mother ever dabbed a bit of Vitamin E on a cut or sore? If so, you’ve already experienced firsthand the healing properties of this fat-soluble antioxidant. Like Vitamin C, it helps defend your skin from free radicals as well as keeping it soft and moisturized. It also supports your immune system, which means that it helps fight against acne bacteria too! You’ll find 240 IU of Vitamin E in our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Vitamin B2 is essential for healthy skin, hair and nails. It helps improve digestive health, plays an important part in growth and energy levels, and is a stress reducer. High stress levels can cause breakouts due to hormonal imbalances, and acne actually is a symptom of B2 deficiency, so it’s doubly important that you have enough Vitamin B2 in your diet.
We’ve fortified our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™ with 2 mg of it.
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
Like B2, Vitamin B6 deficiency can also cause acne breakouts. This vitamin plays an important role in breaking down proteins, sugars and fatty acids. If you don’t have enough of it, the sebaceous glands in your skin start secreting an oily substance called sebum, which can cause an ugly rash of breakouts. It doesn’t take very much B6 to fix this, and in fact too much can also cause acne breakouts, so we’ve only added 2 mg to our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™.
Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin)
Vitamin B12 boosts your metabolism as well as your red blood cell and nerve cell count. It also happens to improve your blood circulation, which helps regenerate your skin cells to give your skin that glowing, healthy look.
It’s been estimated that around half of the U.S. population doesn’t get enough magnesium in their diet. Magnesium deficiencies can lead to constipation, which causes acne breakouts because your digestive system isn’t ridding your body of toxins the way it’s supposed to. A lack of magnesium can also cause skin inflammation, which doesn’t do anything to help your complexion!
Getting enough magnesium into your diet will not only handle these things, but also lower your stress level, which also affects acne breakouts. That’s why we’ve added 100 mg of it to our Clear Skin Vitamin Pack™.
Evening Primrose Oil
Evening Primrose Oil is rich in GLA, an omega-6 fatty acid that balances the hormones responsible for your acne breakouts and inflammation. It also helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines, and promotes skin elasticity.
Translation: it’s anti- acne AND anti-aging!
Vitex (Chaste Tree Berry)
Commonly used by herbalists to treat hormonal acne. Vitex contains no hormonal compounds but acts on the pituitary gland to help normalize and regulate hormones. Also widely used to treat PMS symptoms. Vitex has been used for centuries to treat acne and inflammation.
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Lipoic Acid is one of the body’s crucial antioxidants and it is helpful with acne due to protection from free radical damage and inflammation. Two separate studies have shown lipoic acid to be twice as low in the blood of acne sufferers as those without acne. Alpha lipoic acid has also been shown to help the body control its levels of sugar and insulin.
